Purple Haze Time for Mini-Thon
By Amy Kimmel
Feburary 25, 2016 This
Friday at 7 p.m. is the Man Pageant! Don’t forget to come out for some
belly laughs and your chance to vote for Mr. Four Diamonds. Bring $5
for you ticket and meet in the High School Auditorium.
With Mini-Thon
right around the corner there are even more fundraising opportunities
happening at the high school and online. This Thursday during lunches
students will have a chance to pie a teacher. Each pie will be $5. Last
week during lunches, the Four Diamonds students hosted BINGO. Cards
were $1 each and prizes included candy bars and gift cards.
This years’
Mini-Thon will be held on March 11-12, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. There will
be many games and activities, including bounce houses and a dodge-ball
tournament. Students will stay up all night to raise money for children
fighting cancer. New this year will be a VIP room for students that
raise at least $100 dollars. Incentives will be better food, comfy
furniture, video games and more. If you’d like to make a donation
toward Mini-Thon, stop in the office, or talk to a high school student
who’s participating.
It’s that time
of year when underclassmen have to complete their course selection for
the following year. It was always a very indecisive process for me.
While they are working on choosing their classes, seniors are working
on choosing their colleges and majors. There is a stack of scholarships
taller than me in the guidance office that seniors have been filing
through. So as we make important decisions over at the high school, you
are hopefully enjoying a carefree week!
