Purple Haze Winding Down

The
school year is winding down with only two weeks left. We still have a
few important events left to round out the year, one of which is Prom!
You may have
assumed that it has already happened, like most school districts, but
ours is not until this weekend! Students are excited to show off their
dresses, take pictures at various locations, and dance all evening. For
many, prom is more than just the night itself. Preparation begins much
earlier in the day with nails, hair and make-up appointments for us
girls!
This past
Tuesday, the Boys and Girls volleyball teams played in a competitive
game to raise money and awareness for Youth Impact Project. The game
raised about $800 with the theme of being super heroes to those in need
of one. This was the fourth annual "battle of the sexes" game at NHS.
The final
school newspaper will be coming out next week, a special edition,
featuring "senior wills." Seniors can write notes leaving hypothetical
or physical items to underclassmen to remember them by. It's always an
entertaining and sentimental part of the final days of high school.
Next Tuesday
night Senior Awards will be held in the NHS auditorium. The evening is
designated to honor students chosen for scholarships or those being
honored for their excellence in different academic departments. It's a
very special night for all involved.
Enjoy the
weather during the long holiday weekend as we remember all those who
have and are fighting for our freedoms. The NHS Marching Band will play
in Dillsburg's Memorial Day parade and also during the ceremony at
Dillsburg Cemetery.
