Zembo Shrine annual Car and Cycle Show
Open to the public on Sunday, September 25 beginning at 8 a.m. Free Admission for spectators. The event is held in the Zembo parking lots on 3rd Street and all proceeds benefit Zembo Shrine. Participants can register the day of the event.

Groovin for a cure
The 7th annual Dillsburg Relay for life is “Groovin for a Cure”. This year’s event will be held on June 17 and 18 at Northern York County School Districts Bostic Field. It is not too late to register a team or be a survivor at the event. For more information go to www.relayforlife.org/padillsburg.

Poetry Contest sponsored by Christian Poets Guild
A $1,000 grand prize is being offered by the Christian Poets Guild for poems of 21 lines or fewer on any subject and in any style. The contest is free to enter and open to poets of any age.

Chicken BBQ Fundraiser to be held by West Shore Senior Center
The West Shore Senior Center invites the community to a Chicken BBQ and Health Fair event at their location in New Cumberland on Saturday, June 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For $7.50, the meal includes a half chicken, baked potato, applesauce and roll, and proceeds will be used to fund activities for the Senior Center. Providing fun for the whole family, the event will feature local entertainers, balloons and face painting and free health events, such as blood pressure screenings. Homemade pies will be sold, just in time for Father’s Day.
The West Shore Senior Center is located at 122 Geary Avenue in New Cumberland, next to Borough Park. Susan Kline, WSSC Director, can be reached at 774-0409 to purchase tickets in advance.
Cell phone collection drive kicks-off in Mechanicsburg
More than 150,000 troops are serving overseas and are away from their families. Cell Phones for Soldiers, and Uncle Matt’s Pizza & Subs are calling on all Americans to support these brave men and women by donating unused cell phones. Cell Phones for Soldiers hopes to collect over 50,000 cell phones this year to help keep troops connected with their families.
Local residents can support the collection drive by donating their phones at Uncle Matt’s Pizza & Subs located at 6483 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg.
Keystone Cup Chili for Charities
Sunday, September 4 will be the International Chili Society (ICS) PA State Championship Cook Off in Hanover. Expect over 10,000 people to be sampling chili of all varieties, from an expected 60 Chili Cooks from six states and lots of family fun. Pennsylvania residents will cook to win the new Keystone Cup Open Chili competition.

KidsCare Golf Tournament
The KidsCare Golf Tournament is open to all adult golfers and will be held Friday, June 15. Registration is at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon at Armitage Golf Course in Mechanicsburg. Proceeds benefit the Philadelphia Shriners Hospital for Children and the Zembo Patient Transportation Program. All contributions should be made payable to "Zembo Transportation Fund" and are tax deductible.
Upper Allen Police co-host Golf Tournament
Upper Allen Police Department and the Upper Allen Fire Department will be hosting their 6th annual Golf Tournament to benefit the youth of the community. This year, they are hosting it on Friday, June 10 at the Cedar Ridge Golf Course. The tournament will be a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. Proceeds from the tournament will be split evenly between the Police and Fire Departments.

Wellsville’s Sonsurf Beach Bash announced
SonSurf Beach Bash will take place at Grace United Methodist Church, 85 York Street, Wellsville, July 11 to 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The adventures begin at the beach learning about Jesus, playing beach games, enjoying tasty shore snacks, singing beachy songs and have a blast. Classes are available for children ages 3 through those having just completed 6th Grade. The Red Lion Senior Center is going to Hollywood
The Red Lion Senior Center is going to Hollywood Casino on July 26 for the special price of $20. The trip is not only for seniors. Everyone at least 21 years old can join the bus trip to Hollywood Casino to play the slots. The trip will be taken on a chartered Wolf bus tour. Jubilee Day offers affordable and free fun
The largest, longest running one-day street fair on the East Coast will be held June 16 in downtown Mechanicsburg. Businesses, community groups, local artists and craftsmen will line the streets for this event. There is always great food, fun games, and exciting amusement rides.
“Admission to Jubilee Day is free,” explains Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jeff Palm, who points out that there are also many free things to do at the event. “We offer at no cost a petting zoo and free Children’s Area with games, crafts, activities and inflatables behind Citizen’s Bank on the Square.” Entertainment all day on two stages is also free.

Monroe Township Community Day Duck Regatta Sale
Monroe Townships 12th annual Community Day will be held on June 18, with a rain date of June 19 at Leidigh Park located nect to the Yellow Breeches Creek on Leidigh Drive. The day begins at 3 p.m. and ends at 9:30 p.m. with a fireworks display. There will be many activities including raffles, games, food, craft vendors, tractor and antique car display, duck regatta, the band "Make Mine Country" and much more.
Ducks are now for sale at Monroe Township building through June 17. There will not be any sales on the day of the event.

The Bob Hoffman YMCA at 1705 Palomino Road is now accepting registrations for Baseball Camps beginning June 13 for ages 8 thru 15.

Community center to offer weekly Zumba toning class
Basic Zumba classes are being offered 3 times a week at the East Berlin Area Community Center; Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. A punch card may be purchased and used for all classes. The cost is $50 for 10 punches, or $25 for 5 punches. Zumba Toning class is Tuesday evening. Classes are designed for all levels and ages. 7th annual YWCA ladies’ Sprint Triathlon to be held
On Sunday, June 26 YWCA York will host the 7th annual Ladies' Sprint Triathlon, also known as the Y-Tri. The race will begin at 8:00 a.m. at York College’s Grumbacher Sports & Fitness Center.
Participants may enter as individuals or as part of a relay team, with one team member covering each event. Women 14 years of age or older are eligible to participate.
Registration for the Y-Tri may be completed in person at the YWCA York, 320 East Market Street.

Post Card Show date set
The York Post Card Club is hosting its 21st annual Post Card Show, Saturday, June 11. The show, now in a new location, takes place at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center, 2000 Loucks Road, just north of US 30 in York. Show hours are 8:30 a.m to 4 p.m. Admission is $2.00. Food and refreshments are available.
After 2:00 p.m. admission is free. This is the best time for those who would like to have a dealer give them an appraisal of their post cards and/or talk with dealers and club members about post card collecting. This is also a great time for beginners and people curious about collecting to come and experience what the show has to offer. Young collectors must be accompanied by an adult.
East Berlin Area Community Center Events
MAll Level Hatha Yoga: Certified Instructor, Lori Houck-Ruffner. Tuesday evenings until June 21, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Next session July 12 to August 6 (six weeks). Fee is $55. Open to all levels of experience including beginners. Bring yoga mat and blanket.
Baseball Clinic for kids 7 to 12 years of age each morning during the week of June 13 to June 17. Coaches are Eric McClintic and 2010 State Championship Bermudian Springs Baseball Players. Fee is $40. Clinic will focus on skills and other baseball fundamentals.
Art camp for children, ages 9 to 16 years of age: Instructor, Pat Thomas. Mondays, June 13, 20 and 27 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Fee is $30. A contemporary art class held out of doors and indoors. Supply kit is $15.
