Fire companies from Adams, York and Cumberland counties stage at a nearby intersection to access a fire hydrant where they used over 500 feet of 5" hose.

House destroyed by fire

A house was destroyed by fire in the 200-block of Opposum Hill Road, Menallen Township, Adams County on April 30. Numerous fire companies throughout Adams, York and Cumberland counties responded including Northern York County Fire Rescue, fire police and EMS. Black smoke was visable for miles. According to the Benderville Community Fire Company Chief Dustin Cramer, the fire was on the backside of a single-family home.
