The Williams Grove Amusement Park opened its gates in 1850, starting as a picnic area, later evolving into an amusement park offering a variety of rides and entertainment. It was a place for the community to gather. A popular attraction was the Carousel House built in 1924. While the park closed in 2005 and the carousel animals, more than 50 of them, were eventually auctioned off, the wooden octagonal structure, 76 feet across and 40 feet high in the center remained intact and in near perfect condition. In 2023, Williams Grove Speedway donated the Carousel House to the Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association. WGHSEA ’s vision is to turn the 100-year-old building into a meeting place, across from the flea market at the corner of Grangers Avenue and Steam Engine Hill.
