Police contract to be updated

At their Dec. 1 work session, Carroll Township supervisor Kelly Wall asked chairman Brent Sailhamer and fellow supervisors Dave Bush and Libby Loudenslager if they had any questions about the employment agreements for Carroll Township Police staff that will be voted on at their regular Dec. 8 meeting.
Wall thanked Wargo for making unspecified changes to his new employment agreement. Wargo said he'd been discussing it with the township since April. He requested that supervisors promote Sgt. Michael Lohr to Lieutenant; and officers David McCoy and John Shapley III be promoted to Sergeant, all to take effect Jan. 5, 2026.

Last week on Thanksgiving Day morning, over 400 hardy souls – and soles – participated in the 10th Annual Dillsburg Thundering Pickle 5k Turkey Trot at Northern High School. Under the auspices of the Dillsburg Area Soccer Association (DASC), they ran, jogged or walked the 3.1-mile course in chilly weather for a great cause as proceeds benefit local youth by helping more kids get involved in soccer. 24-year-old Jonathan Wyrick of Carlisle, placed first with a time of 18:23.54.
